The name Cosmic Kitchen is very misleading. This is a vegetarian restaurant, and the food is supposed to be Indian, but then, this is the the kind of place that not just gives Indian food, but anything even remotely Indian, a bad name. Food is substandard. The sambar was a tasteless, watery yellow soup. The paneer tikka masala bland, with zero flavor. The only half decent thing was the paneer itself, which was soft and fresh. The less said about the masala dosa the better. The chutney was frozen, straight from the freezer. The ambience is down market, with some three or four tables and random chairs thrown around. The counters were all empty, and the place could do with a thorough top to bottom scrubbing. Pricing is not cheap. To put it in perspective, it's more expensive than Saravana bhavan (if you are Indian, you will know) with not even a fraction of the food quality or hygiene. My one word advice, avoid.

I am giving 3 stars because I had ordered Mutter paneer and the food was good and it also came fast. But customer service felt such low effort I was served in disposable paper bowls and I had to go pick my own paper plate and spoons when I was dining in. I had to request a steel spoon as they only had plastic spoons even while dining in. Also was charged for water. Either they should make this place as togo only location or improve their customer service.

Food is amazing. I’m African American that loves Indian masala cuisine. Tastes authentic and great portions. They have good service and look clean. The seating is not so good and it’s a little warm, not much decorative. But overall trust you will have an amazing served meal.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel this one is important to share. We ordered Malai Kofta, Papdi Chaat, Veg Fried Rice, and Paneer Tikka Dosa. Out of everything, the Paneer Tikka Dosa was probably the most decent dish — I’d rate it about 3/5. It wasn’t exceptional, but it was okay. Unfortunately, the Papdi Chaat was very disappointing (2/5). It didn’t resemble traditional papdi chaat at all. It was mostly papdi topped with onions and tomatoes, lightly finished with shev and chutney — missing the balance, texture, and flavor you’d expect from a proper chaat. The Veg Fried Rice was also quite underwhelming. It didn’t taste like Indo-Chinese style fried rice. Instead, it felt more like basmati rice tossed together similar to a mild veg pulav. The flavor profile just wasn’t there. On top of that, both my spouse and I experienced stomach discomfort afterward, which made the experience even more concerning. After living in Texas for over 10 years and trying many Indian restaurants, this is honestly the first one that left me this disappointed. I truly wanted to like it, but unfortunately, we won’t be returning

Cosmic Kitchen is a hidden gem that truly feels like an extension of a warm, welcoming home. I tried their home-style idli with chutney, and it was comfort food at its finest — fresh, flavorful, and Jain-friendly, which is a big plus. The cozy setup adds to the charm, and the staff are exceptionally polite and friendly, making you feel right at home. And I have to mention — their coffee is absolutely outstanding! Smooth, aromatic, and perfectly brewed — it’s a must-try when you visit. If you’re looking for authentic flavors, homely vibes, and genuinely kind service, Cosmic Kitchen should be on your list.
